Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Veterinarian role based in Coimbatore. The Senior Veterinarian will oversee and provide medical care for rescued animals, perform surgical procedures (such as spaying/neutering), diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, and ensure the overall well-being of animals at the ABC and Rescue Centre. The role also includes mentoring junior veterinary staff, collaborating with animal-welfare teams, and contributing to community awareness programs.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in veterinary medicine, including diagnosing and treating animal health issues, and performing surgical procedures.
• Skills in animal handling, rehabilitation, and ensuring the welfare of stray and injured animals.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team to implement community healthcare initiatives such as animal birth control and anti-rabies programs.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to mentor junior staff and contribute to public awareness campaigns.
• Experience in working with stray animals or in a similar animal welfare organization is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc or equivalent) and relevant licensing or certifications required to practice veterinary medicine in India.
