Position Responsibilities
Senior UX Researcher
Level: 3 / Location: India
As Deltek's Senior UX Researcher in India, you will conduct hands-on research within assigned product areas. You'll independently design and execute mixed-methods research initiatives, becoming the recognized research expert for your domain—the go-to voice for research-informed product decisions. This IC role partners with India and US teams (3–4 hours overlap).
What You'll Do
Validation & Continuous Learning
- Leverage behavioral monitoring frameworks to surface adoption patterns, friction points, and success indicators within your product areas.
- Execute hypothesis-driven validation cycles using synthetic users and targeted human research.
- Partner with Product to define metrics and continuous feedback loops within your domain.
- Synthesize insights across analytics, telemetry, and field research to surface strategic opportunities.
Research Execution & Synthesis
- Lead research uncovering workflow complexity, mental models, decision-making processes, and organizational dynamics within your domain.
- Conduct research using methods matched to the question: contextual inquiry, usability testing, interviews, surveys, and behavioral data interpretation.
- Partner with Product Managers to determine when questions need human research versus AI-augmented validation.
- Translate behavioral patterns into research hypotheses, focusing human research on high-impact areas.
- Create deliverables that drive decisions—insight frameworks and recommendations, not just findings reports.
AI-Enhanced Research
- Leverage AI tools for transcript analysis, pattern identification, thematic synthesis, and preliminary validation.
- Contribute to synthetic user profile development based on real user research and behavioral data.
- Apply frameworks for when to use synthetic validation versus human research.
- Document AI tool capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use cases.
Research Operations
- Maintain research repositories that make insights discoverable and actionable.
- Support participant recruitment for project-based research and continuous validation.
- Create reusable templates and frameworks that improve study planning and insight findability.
- Manage multiple concurrent studies while maintaining rigor and delivery quality.

Experience
- 4–8 years conducting UX research in B2B software, SaaS platforms, enterprise tools, or complex technical products.
- Demonstrated expertise across research methods: user interviews, usability testing, workflow analysis, survey design, behavioral data interpretation.
- Experience embedded with Product and Design teams in agile or continuous delivery environments.
- Portfolio demonstrating research impact on product decisions within a defined product domain.
Analytical & Communication
- Synthesize insights from qualitative research, behavioral data, and usage patterns into actionable product recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal English; able to present findings that drive decisions across audiences with varying research literacy.
- Self-directed with strong asynchronous communication and documentation practices across time zones.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
