About the team:u00A0This position is with theu00A0Service Experience Design team within theu00A0larger family of the award winning Philips Design community. We shapeu00A0end-to-end experiences across the customer lifecycle for our healthcare partners, seamlessly weaving the needs of both the front-line staff and behind-the-scenes roles. We are a multi-disciplinary design team combining UX, Service design, and User research to understand the systemic picture, user's journeys, uncover friction, and co-create solutions that can scale across platforms. Our goal is to design with clarity, purpose, and impact u2014 making complex services feel seamless and human.u00A0

Who we're looking for:u00A0A seasoned versatile T shaped Senior Designer with deep expertise in Interaction Design, complemented by strong strategic design thinking (fluency in service design methodologies and primary user research). To succeed in this role, youu2019ll need to navigate ambiguity confidently and solve challenges from an end to end perspective. You operate independently and simply take ownership to make things happen in all project phases - delivering results promptly without compromising on excellence! You thrive in complex cross-functional setup, influencing the stakeholders and driving decisions that lead to meaningful outcomes.u00A0

Your role:

  • Conduct user research (discovery interviews, surveys, usability testing) to inform design decisions and ensure user-centric solutions.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to challenge the status quo, advocate for useru2019s voice, and drive innovation. Strategically balance and navigate the organizational objectives while also understanding the business and user context

  • Partner with product and project management teams to define user requirements, plan the project scope, and set timelines.

  • Design holistic user journeys, service blueprints with systemic awareness, addressing the interdependencies (across personas, process and touchpoints) in the currents state and the desired future-state experience.

  • Create interactive UX prototypes, iterating based on feedback for alignment with user needs and business goals.u00A0

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality design outputs and maintaining the design language system (DLS) standards across the product portfolio.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration through workshops, ideation sessions, and design cocreation sessions.

  • Mobilize internal and external resources, actively unblock self to meet project objectives, timelines, and quality. Balance project constraints while maintaining design excellence.

  • Document design specifications, user flows, and patterns for transparent dev hand-off with development teams, ensuring the effective translation of the design into final solution.u00A0

  • Perform gap analysis uncovering the delta between the design and developed versions u2013 guiding the dev teams in execution, and product teams for the next backlog.

  • Elevate the project impact with clear communication, and story-telling of the design strategy, UX concept and rationale.

  • Support the design team growth and development through mentorship and coaching. Contribute actively to the global design community with industry knowledge and design expertise.

You're the right fit if:

Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Interaction Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Product Design, Service design or equivalent Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.

6 years of experience as UX/Digital Product Designer handling user research and service design.

Hard Skills:

  • Qualitative user research (formative/summative)

  • Customer journeys/ service blueprintsu00A0

  • UX requirementsu00A0(use cases, features,) and UX metrics etc.

  • UX architecture maps (e.g. site maps) and the interaction + visual layer (e.g. Layout, Color, Typography, Icons and Images)

  • Creating competitor or comparative benchmarks, e.g. mood board or opportunity maps

  • UX flows (work/task flows) and UX concepts (wireframes)

  • Creating experiential prototypesu00A0with UX/UI design specifications

  • Using visual transitions and motion in UX

  • Story-telling and Visual communication

Soft Skills:

  • Curiosity, asking insightful questions, active listening, and engaging more deeply with problems (incl. empathy and self-learning).

  • Ability to think in systems, deal with ambiguity and translating high complexity into experiential design statements

  • Effective communication such as explaining thinking behind designs (incl. storytelling)

  • Collaboration and incorporating ideas of other functions such as developers, clients, and team members (incl. design-thinking)

Tools & Processes:

  • UX design and prototyping tools - Figmau00A0

  • Using and extending our design system (DLS)

  • Software platforms and modularizationu00A0

  • Web and native UI technologyu00A0

  • Comparative and competitive analysisu00A0

  • Customer journey mapping, Service blueprints

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the companyu2019s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the companyu2019s main facilities, generally at the customersu2019 or suppliersu2019 locations.
