Job Summary
We are looking a Senior UX Designer who is passionate about creating thoughtful, user-centered product experiences for telematics customers. This role combines deep user research, strong storytelling, and close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to shape product strategy and deliver impactful design solutions. As a Senior UX Designer, you will own the design direction for your respective product area, and lead design initiatives from concept to launch. The ideal candidate is strategic and hands-on, equally comfortable leading discovery workshops, mapping end-to-end user journeys, crafting UI workflows, and presenting design narratives that influence product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design for your product area, delivering high-quality work autonomously with minimal oversight, while setting a high bar for design craft across the organization.
- Scale an enterprise design system, establishing foundational tokens, components, and patterns that support multi-product, multi-platform experiences as the company grows.
- Design with AI-native workflows in mind — building systems, components, and documentation that are structured for consumption by AI tools like Figma Make. Enabling faster design-to-code handoff and agentic development workflows.
- Partner with engineering to embed AI tooling into the design-to-development pipeline, ensuring Figma libraries, variables, and code-connected components translate cleanly into production via modern engineering tools (e.g., Storybook, Cursor, Claude Code).
- Synthesize research findings and translate them into clear product opportunities and design directions.
- Develop a deep understanding of customers, competitors, and the broader product landscape.
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to successfully bring features and experiences to market.
- Build high-fidelity interactive prototypes that validate complex interaction models, micro-interactions, and system behavior.
- Contribute to improving design processes, research practices, and team collaboration - including evaluating and introducing emerging AI design tools to the team.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant product design experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex product areas.
- Proven experience scaling a design system, including defining token architecture, governance models, contribution workflows, and documentation standards that hold up under organizational growth.
- Expert-level Figma proficiency, including:
- Advanced auto layout with nested structures, min/max constraints, and responsive behaviors across breakpoints
- Component architecture with variants, component properties, boolean/instance swap props, and slot patterns
- Interactive prototyping with conditional logic, variables, and advanced transitions
- Fluency with AI design and development tools, including hands-on experience with Figma Make, Claude / Claude Code, and an understanding of how to embed these tools into design and engineering workflows to accelerate delivery without sacrificing craft.
- Strong experience conducting and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative user research.
- Exceptional attention to detail for visual craft — composition, typography, layout, and motion.
- Proven ability to tell compelling product stories using research, design artifacts, and prototypes.
- Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional product and engineering teams, including shaping handoff and implementation workflows.
Nice to Haves
- 8+ years of experience in Product/UX design, with time spent in a high-growth or 0-to-1 product environment.
- Experience with ProtoPie for advanced or cross-device interactive prototyping beyond what Figma supports natively.
- Experience embedding AI into design ops - e.g., using LLMs for design system documentation, component audits, accessibility checks, or generating code-ready specs.
- Familiarity with Code Connect, Storybook, or similar tools that bridge Figma components to production code.
- Experience with Product Board for product discovery and roadmap planning.
- Experience with Pendo or other product analytics / in-product feedback tools.
- Familiarity working within Jira-based product development workflows.
- Experience presenting product design work to senior stakeholders or leadership.
