Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and support UNIX/Linux systems, primarily Oracle Linux (OEL), in on‑prem and cloud environments
- Assist in the installation, configuration and management of UNIX servers
- Provision, configure, and maintain compute, storage, and networking resources in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Manage and support virtualization platforms using Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM)
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and upgrades
- Help troubleshoot end-user issues
- Create and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Ensure systems comply with security standards, hardening guidelines, and operational best practices
- Collaborate with application teams, database administrators, storage, and network teams
- Participate in IT projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience administering UNIX/Linux systems in enterprise environments
- Two or Four-year degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficiency with shell scripting (Bash or similar) for routine administration tasks
- Ability to understand, interpret, and glean results from complex technical relationships.
- Ability to complete projects/tasks on time.
- Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, OEL or Red Hat required, Debian based a plus.
- Excellent service-driven customer-focused skills.
- Proven ability to work in both a team environment and independently. Exhibit a high level of individual initiative.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and successfully follow-to-completion all assigned tasks.
- Excellent reading, oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Work from verbal and written instructions or requirements of varying levels of detail.
- Proven ability to absorb, master and leverage emerging technologies. Strong problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Exposure to automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef
- Experience with other cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
