Senior UAV Engineer – Fixed Wing / VTOL

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior UAV Engineer to lead UAV integration, testing, and development activities for fixed-wing and hybrid VTOL UAV platforms. The candidate will work closely with engineering, flight operations, and management teams to support R&D, system integration, troubleshooting, validation, and product development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate UAV engineering activities, integration tasks, and field operations.
• Integrate UAV systems including:

1. Flight controllers
2. Avionics
3. Communication systems
4. Power systems
5. Payload systems

• Perform R&D activities for fixed-wing and hybrid VTOL UAV development.
• Configure, tune, and validate MAVLink-based flight control systems.
• Support airframe integration, payload integration, and system-level validation.
• Troubleshoot hardware, electronics, telemetry, communication, and flight-related issues.
• Conduct flight testing, tuning, and UAV performance optimization.
• Analyze flight logs and identify system improvements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and validation logs.
• Coordinate with management, UAV pilots, and engineering teams during development and testing activities.
• Support customer demonstrations, field deployments, and technical discussions.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of fixed-wing UAV systems, VTOL concepts, and UAV integration.
• Hands-on experience with:

Pixhawk/Cube flight controllers

Ardupilot/PX4

Mission Planner

QGroundControl

• Experience in PID tuning and flight controller optimization.
• Good understanding of:

Avionics systems

Electronics integration

Power systems

UAV communication systems

• Experience in payload integration and UAV troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of autonomous flight operations, mission planning, and testing procedures.
• Ability to analyze flight logs and diagnose flight-related issues.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with fixed-wing VTOL platforms.
• Knowledge of MAVLink communication and telemetry systems.
• Familiarity with composite airframes and UAV manufacturing processes.
• Experience supporting customer demonstrations and field operations.
• Languages:

English

Qualifications

• B.E / B.Tech in:

Aeronautical Engineering

Electronics Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

or related field

• 4+ years of relevant UAV industry experience.
• Experience in fixed-wing or VTOL UAV systems preferred.
