About this opportunity:
As a Senior Engineer – Microwave / Transmission, you will be the technical expert for microwave and transmission backhaul (e.g. MINI-LINK, Huawei, SIAE and IP/Ethernet/SDH transport), responsible for planning, design, implementation, optimization and troubleshooting of transport networks for our customers. You will secure high availability, capacity and quality of the transport domain and support both deployment and operations.
You will do:
- Accountable for day-to-day delivery of the assigned project towards the MA , Interact with internal and external stakeholder for Technical discussion and workshops.
- Troubleshoots network problems, KPI Traces , logs and implements corrective action
- Plan and design microwave transmission networks (access, aggregation, backbone), including link budget, path profile propagation, modulation, fade margin, interference frequency planning to secure robust link
- Define topology, protection schemes, capacities and routing in line with customer requirements and Ericsson guidelines.
- Prepare and review HLD/LLD, BoQs, configuration templates and MoPs
- Database Management for microwave/transmission/IPRAN network
- Support site engineering (antenna selection, placement, alignment, installation quality) in coordination with field teams/partners..
- Support software upgrades, migrations and changes with minimal service impact, following Ericsson change management.
The skills you bring:
- Qualification- B.Tech./B.E. All academic credentials must be from recognized and accredited institutions and are further subject to verification
- Hands-on experience with Ericsson MINI-LINK, Huawei, SIAE, portfolio and Ericsson OSS/NMS tools.
- Understanding of 4G/5G RAN transport requirements (capacity, latency, synchronization).
- Configure and integrate microwave radios and transmission nodes (e.g. MINI-LINK, RTN, SIAE-AGS, SDH, packet transport, IP/MPLS) into the live network.
- Validate Site survey reports, Perform acceptance testing, performance verification and optimization of links and transport paths.
- Analyse KPIs/PM counters and recommend capacity upgrades, re-homing, re-parenting and topology optimization and ensure all agreed targets/SLA's
- IPRAN, Optical & Enterprise
- Configuration audit in terms of VLAN & IP's
- Connectivity and optimization information.
- Optical (DWDM, SDL, OLA, POI) terminology awareness and information.
- Enterprise business services knowledge, Configuration knowledge
- Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English, Subject matter expertise on managed services and operator network .
- Experience on automation & scripting would be a plus.
- Experience: Typically 7–10 years of experience in microwave/transmission planning, implementation and/or operations in telecom networks.
- Strong knowledge of: Microwave systems and products (Ericsson MINI-LINK, Huawei, SIAE, or similar), RF propagation and link budget analysis.
- Transport technologies and protocols: PDH/SDH, Ethernet, IP/MPLS, QoS, synchronization (SyncE, PTP).
- Planning and NMS tools used for microwave/transmission networks.
- Drive closely with RAN, Core, IP, NOC and project teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrity.
