Our client is a highly established commodities trading enterprise specializing in the physical trade of coal, coke, iron ore, and steel. They are looking for a highly skilled Senior Trade Finance professional to manage complex financial instruments and ensure smooth international trade operations.

about the job

Oversee the entire lifecycle of Letters of Credit (issuance, advising, confirmation, amendment, and negotiation) tailored to high-value commodities.
Proactively negotiate LC terms and conditions with banks, suppliers, and buyers to minimize financial exposure and ensure strict compliance.
Handle complex trade documentation specifically for bulk shipments (e.g., Charter Party Bills of Lading, independent surveyor reports) to ensure timely presentation and zero discrepancies.
Maintain and leverage strong relationships with negotiating and issuing banks to facilitate smooth trade finance operations and resolve disputes swiftly.
Partner closely with the trading, shipping, and operations teams to align financial documentation with physical cargo movements and contract terms.

skills and experience required

Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in Trade Finance, specifically within the commodities trading sector (coal, iron ore, or steel experience is highly preferred).
ACCA qualification is required.
Deep, working knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522, and international trade compliance standards.
Proven track record of managing bulk shipment LCs and a high level of accuracy in document checking.
Sharp negotiation abilities, strong analytical thinking, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
