Job Description

Position: Senior Testing Lead - Automation, Performance, Security & Functional QA

Location: Hyderabad ( 8 PM to 5 AM IST)

Work Type: Full-Time/Onsite

Experience: 8+ Years

PETADATA is looking for a highly experienced Senior Testing Lead with 8+ years of experience to own the overall quality strategy, build and scale test automation, and lead functional, performance, security, API, and data-validation testing for a data migration platform operating across cloud and on-premise environments.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesQuality Strategy & Leadership

  • Own and define the overall QA and testing strategy across functional, automation, performance, security, and data-integrity testing.
  • Establish quality gates, release criteria, testing standards, metrics, and reporting.
  • Identify and prioritize testing efforts based on business and technical risk, especially data-correctness risks.
  • Build and manage the quality function with minimal supervision.
  • Mentor developers and QA engineers and promote a quality-first engineering culture.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, DevOps, Architecture, Security, and Implementation teams.

Test Automation

  • Design and build test automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Develop automated UI, API, integration, and regression testing solutions.
  • Use tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, and REST/API automation frameworks.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build scalable regression suites that improve release velocity and confidence.
  • Use programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java for automation.

Functional & Migration Testing

  • Own end-to-end functional testing across supported CRM platforms and migration scenarios.
  • Test standard and custom objects, relationships, transformations, mappings, and edge cases.
  • Design test scenarios based on real-world customer data migration use cases.
  • Validate migration correctness from source to destination.
  • Test multi-tenant behavior, configuration, and tenant data isolation.
  • Identify defects and ensure issues are properly investigated, resolved, and prevented from recurring.

Data Validation & Integrity

  • Build automated source-to-target data validation frameworks.
  • Validate:
    • Record counts
    • Field-level accuracy
    • Data mappings
    • Relationships and associations
    • Transformations
    • Deduplication
    • Overall data integrity
  • Use SQL and programmatic validation techniques to verify migration results.
  • Ensure migrated customer data remains complete, accurate, and consistent.
Performance Testing

  • Design and execute load, stress, scalability, and performance testing.
  • Test large data volumes and high numbers of concurrent migrations.
  • Establish performance baselines, benchmarks, and SLAs.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and work with Engineering and Architecture teams to resolve them.
  • Use tools such as k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
  • Integrate appropriate performance testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Security Testing

  • Perform and coordinate security testing across the application and platform.
  • Test tenant isolation and ensure no cross-tenant data access is possible.
  • Validate authentication and authorization controls.
  • Perform input validation and abuse-case testing.
  • Integrate SAST, DAST, and vulnerability scanning into CI/CD.
  • Coordinate penetration testing with internal security teams and external security vendors.
  • Support security and compliance requirements such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 through appropriate testing evidence.

Technical Quality & Delivery

  • Ensure software is secure, scalable, reliable, and production-ready.
  • Establish automated quality checks throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with developers to identify defects early.
  • Review testing approaches and improve overall engineering quality.
  • Support both cloud and on-premise deployments.
  • Help establish reliable test environments using cloud, containers, and infrastructure automation.

Note: Should be highly self-directed, comfortable building the QA function from the ground up, and able to work effectively with distributed engineering teams across required time zones.

Note: Should be able to work independently and work in USA time zones

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of professional QA / Test Engineering experience.
  • Strong experience leading QA strategy and quality engineering for software products.
  • Strong hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Proficiency with Playwright, Cypress, and/or Selenium.
  • Strong API and REST testing experience.
  • Strong programming experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Strong experience with performance/load testing using JMeter, k6, Gatling, Locust, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of security testing, including OWASP, authentication, authorization, tenant isolation, SAST, DAST, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Strong SQL and data-validation experience.
  • Experience validating source-to-target data integrity across multiple systems.
  • Strong understanding of data migration, ETL, integration, or data-intensive applications.
  • Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with on-premise/customer-deployed software is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar CRM platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker, containers, and IaC is a plus.
  • Exposure to chaos/resilience testing or contract testing is a plus.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2 / ISO 27001 or other compliance audits is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, ownership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to independently establish testing processes, frameworks, quality standards, and release criteria.

Education

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
