CORE REQUIREMENT

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in automated API testing. This is an API-first, service-layer-heavy role supporting a Unified Digital Platform (UDP) initiative.

Candidates must have strong expertise in:

REST APIs, JSON & HTTP/HTTPS

API functional & non-functional testing

Performance, load, stress & scalability testing

API automation frameworks/tools

CI/CD test automation & quality gates

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop & maintain automated tests for REST APIs, backend services, integrations and critical E2E workflows

• Validate payloads, status codes, schemas, authentication/authorization, business rules, data integrity, error handling, idempotency and negative scenarios

• Design & execute API performance/load tests covering response time, throughput, concurrency, spike, stress, endurance and recovery

• Translate functional & non-functional requirements into test scenarios, acceptance criteria and workload models

• Build reusable automation frameworks, API clients, utilities, test data strategies, mocks/stubs and service virtualization

• Automate integration, regression, smoke and release-readiness test suites

• Integrate functional & performance automation into CI/CD pipelines

• Analyze logs, traces, metrics and test results to identify defects, bottlenecks and reliability issues

• Create test reports/dashboards covering coverage, defects, performance trends, risks and release recommendations

• Collaborate with developers, architects and product owners to promote shift-left quality

• Manage defects, sprint tracking and test coverage using Jira or equivalent

• Support exploratory testing, UAT, manual validation and production verification when required

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, architecture reviews and release activities

️ REQUIRED SKILLS

⭐ Strong hands-on API & service-level test automation

⭐ Functional API testing — positive, negative, boundary, schema, security, data & error scenarios

⭐ Non-functional testing — performance, load, stress, spike, endurance/soak, scalability & reliability

⭐ API tools/frameworks: Postman/Newman, REST Assured, Playwright API, Karate, Pact or equivalent

⭐ Performance tools: k6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust or equivalent

⭐ CI/CD integration and automated quality gates

⭐ Git, source control, code reviews & production-quality automation code

⭐ HTTP/HTTPS, REST, JSON & API authentication patterns

⭐ Asynchronous processing, database validation & integration patterns

⭐ Programming experience in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C# or Python

⭐ Agile/Scrum, defect lifecycle, test strategy, risk-based testing & release readiness

⭐ Strong communication, ownership and ability to work independently in distributed teams

PREFERRED

• Enterprise-grade API automation framework/test architecture

• Contract testing / consumer-driven contracts such as Pact

• Event-driven, message-based & asynchronous integrations

• Observability tools for logs, metrics & distributed tracing

• Containers & cloud-based test environments

• Service virtualization, mocks/stubs & synthetic test data

• API security testing & awareness of common API vulnerabilities

• Retail, eCommerce, digital platform or enterprise integration experience

• UI automation with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium

• Spanish + English bilingual skills are a plus
