Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and perform maintenance, repair, and installation of retail equipment such as POS systems, HVAC, refrigeration units, electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical problems in electrical, mechanical, or electronic systems used within the retail space.

  • Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Lead, train, and mentor junior technicians or maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and maintenance protocols.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory for accountability and scheduling.

  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or service interruptions to minimize downtime and customer impact.

  • Ensure work areas and equipment meet safety and cleanliness standards within the retail environment.

  • Assist in managing procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.

Requirements

Skills Required:

  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, electronic systems, and retail-specific equipment (e.g., POS machines, refrigeration).

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing faults, and repairing complex systems.

  • Leadership skills to supervise junior technicians and coordinate with external vendors.

  • Good communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with store management and external parties.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance schedules.

  • Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment procedures.

  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and record-keeping.

  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform hands-on repairs and inspections.
