Job description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company with a unique niche in the ERP space. As a Technical Writer at Net At Work, you will work hand in hand with development and training teams to prepare detailed documentation of our new products as they are being developed and brought to market. In addition, you will play a key role in the creation of an eLearning site and certification program for internal employees, partners, and customers

Role And Responsibility:

  • Plan, develop, write, and edit operational procedures, manuals, and technical schematics for a variety of audiences.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive library of technical content.
  • Create standards for document formats and terminology across the department.
  • Convey technical concepts clearly and concisely with little fluff.
  • Create forms to be used to collect data from customers during the setup process.
  • Create Functional Requirements Documents and Technical Requirements Documents.
  • Research and document technical design specifications.
  • Document process flows for business procedures and product setup.
  • Contribute ideas and content toward a forthcoming partner certification program.
  • Produce electronic documentation, in addition to written.
  • Fully understand the product delivery life cycle and ensure documentation progress within it.
  • Own the format and structure of templates to be used for documentation across the department.
  • Analyze documentation regularly to maintain continuity of content.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
  • Bring ideas to ensure our training materials are constantly relevant and innovative.
  • Understand the overall features of the product and possess advanced comprehension of the application(s) to which you are assigned including the relationship to other applications.
  • Follow best practices for documentation usability and quality assurance and find ways to incorporate those practices throughout the department.
  • Contribute toward the creation of PowerPoint presentations and other content for training sessions.
  • Prepare special reports and knowledge shares as needed.
  • Be flexible, as many coworkers are based overseas and in different time zones; as such, some meetings will fall outside the traditional 9-5 schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant area.
  • Prior experience in a technical writer role (examples of work will be requested).
  • Experience using technical writing/training content tools.
  • Advanced level MS Word and PowerPoint knowledge.
  • Experience developing eLearning content is a plus.
