## Key Responsibilities
. Monitor and support missioncritical production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and stability.
. Handle incident, problem, and change management activities in alignment with ITIL best practices.
. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux/Unix servers, application logs, batch jobs, and deployments.
. Write, optimize, and analyze Oracle SQL / PLSQL queries to support data investigation and issue resolution.
. Develop and enhance automation scripts using Shell, Python, Perl, or other programming languages.
. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and collaborate with development teams on permanent fixes.
. Participate in on-call rotations and ensure timely resolution of production incidents.
. Support application releases and coordinate with cross-functional teams during planned maintenance and deployments.
. Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation.
. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards.
## Required Skills & Experience
. 6+ years of experience in Production Support / Application Support (L2 / L3).
. Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems, shell scripting, file systems, and process management.
. Proficiency in Oracle SQL / PLSQL for debugging, data analysis, and performance tuning.
. Experience with at least one programming or scripting language (Shell, Python, Java, C++, etc.).
. Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, or similar tools.
. Solid understanding of ITIL processes and production support best practices.
. Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD concepts.
. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform under pressure during production incidents.
. Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
## Good to Have
. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
. Knowledge of job schedulers such as ControlM, Autosys, or Cron.
. Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancers, ports, TCP/IP).
. Exposure to microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes.
. Experience in highly regulated or 24x7 production environments.
## Education
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
