/Job Description : Technical Sales Manager
Location: Mumbai, Gujarat
To bridge technicalexpertise and commercial sales, by understanding customer needs, providingtechnically sound solutions, and driving revenue growth while ensuring customer satisfaction.
KeyRoles & Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Solution Selling
- Understand customer applications, processes, and technical challenges.
- Recommend appropriate products/solutions based on technicalfit and performance.
- Conduct technical discussions, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Support customers in trials,evaluations, and product optimization.
Sales &Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities and target accounts.
- Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply termswithin defined authority.
- Achieve assigned sales targets(volume, revenue,margin).
Technical Support& Troubleshooting
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support.
- Assist customers with productselection, usage guidelines, and problem resolution.
- Coordinate with R&D, production, and quality teams for issue resolution.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback.
- Share insights with internalteams to supportproduct improvement and innovation.
- Identify unmet customer needs and application gaps.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the interface between customersand internal teams (R&D, QA, Supply Chain).
- Support new product introductions and technical transfers at customer sites.
- Ensure smooth order executionand timely communication.
Relationship Management
- Buildlong-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
- Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and proactively.
Documentation &Reporting
- Maintain sales forecasts, CRM updates, and activity reports.
- Document customer requirements, trial results, and technical feedback.
Required QualificationEducational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Science / Technology (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Biotechnology, Chemistry, etc.)
- MBAor PG Diploma in Marketing/ Sales preferred but notmandatory.
Experience
- 8-14years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Experience in B2B / industrial / specialty chemicals/ engineering productsis highly desirable.
