Senior Technical Lead

The Mission:

We are looking for seasoned Sr./Technical Leads who relish solving deep, challenging engineering problems at petabyte scale. In this high-leverage IC leadership role, you will define the architectural foundation of our next-generation AI content performance platform, setting technical standards and mentoring senior engineers across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Leadership: Architect, design, and implement fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable backend microservices and data pipelines capable of handling billions of records.
• Technical Strategy & Standards: Author authoritative Technical Design Documents (TDDs), conduct rigorous architecture reviews, and resolve complex distributed systems bottlenecks.
• Hands-On Craftsmanship: Lead by example with clean, testable, high-performance code in Python, Java, Go, or C++. Tackle the most critical, ambiguous technical challenges directly.
• Technical Mentorship & Influence: Coach and uplevel senior and mid-level engineers. Foster a culture of technical rigour, design elegance, and high engineering velocity without needing direct management authority.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Directors to assess technical feasibility, evaluate build vs. buy decisions, and de-risk roadmaps.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of progressive backend engineering experience, with 2+ years operating at a Tech Lead level.
• Deep expertise in modern programming languages (Python, Java, Go, or C++) and mastery of concurrency, asynchronous processing, and memory optimisation.
• Proven track record designing high-throughput distributed systems, event-driven architectures (Kafka, Spark), and distributed caching.
• Deep understanding of database internals, query optimisation, and schema design across both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and analytical/columnar databases (ClickHouse, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Strong familiarity with cloud-native architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to both junior engineers and executive leaders.
