The Lawson Developer is a part of a team responsible for designing, developing, documenting, testing, and modifying existing and new software applications, championing standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Provide operational support in designing and developing a broad scope of highly critical and visible internal and customer applications. Work closely with the business to effectively translate business strategy and objectives into technological capability.
Job Description
- Collaborate with the Administrative Applications Manager and Team Lead to take direction.
- Ensure that solution design and delivery meet business requirements and expectations regarding cost, schedule and scope by reviewing with Administrative Applications team leadership.
- Deliver operational excellence by following the teams formal release schedules and release management processes, service level agreements (SLAs), problem resolution through system monitoring, and change management.
- Evaluate and thoroughly understand complex interrelationships between assigned applications and systems, such as whether a contemplated change in one application would impact or cause unwanted results in a related part of that application or other applications/systems. Proactively provide subject matter expertise regarding assigned application(s) to other members of the technology and business teams to ensure quality and minimize impact on other applications and business processes.
- Act as a resource development staff regarding technology, methodologies and standards. Proactively share knowledge and collaborate with development team members, Business Analysts and Technology Operations to assure quick and effective responses to customer needs (internal and/or external).
- Maintain up-to-date business domain knowledge and technical skills in software development technologies and methodologies.
- Support the efforts to analyze the performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with Admin Apps team Leadership, Senior Application Analysts and senior development team members. Provide input to prolong application life or recommend replacement
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
Preferred Experience /Qualification /Certifications
- 5+ years recent/relevant Lawson System and COBOL development experience, working knowledge of Unix and AIX
- Proficient in IPA, Foundation, Portal, Websphere, Disaster Recovery
- Scripting for administration/automation (ANT, VBScript, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows batch)
