Job Description
We are looking for a
Senior Taxonomy Developer to create and manage structured vocabularies, metadata schemas, and classification systems that improve content organization and data discoverability across enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain taxonomies, ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata schemas.
- Work with business and content owners to understand tagging needs and search behavior.
- Support integration of taxonomy into content management systems, DAMs, and data catalogs.
- Collaborate with UX, search, and data governance teams for improved metadata tagging and navigation.
- Evaluate and refine metadata tagging workflows and automation processes.
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in information architecture, taxonomy/ontology design.
- Strong understanding of metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, SKOS, RDF).
- Experience with tools like PoolParty, SmartLogic, TopQuadrant, or Collibra.
- Knowledge of CMS, DAM, and search systems integration.
Preferred
- Background in library science, linguistics, data science, or UX.
