Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Direct & Indirect Tax Manager to oversee and manage all tax-related matters for our Real Estate business. The role requires expertise in direct and indirect taxation, with a focus on compliance, planning, and advisory in the context of real estate transactions, projects, and corporate structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Taxation:
- Manage all aspects of corporate income tax including computation, filing, and assessments.
- Ensure timely filing of income tax returns, TDS returns, and advance tax payments.
- Handle tax audits, assessments, appeals, and litigation matters with authorities.
- Provide tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities within the legal framework.
- Review agreements/contracts for tax implications.
Indirect Taxation (GST & Others):
- Oversee GST compliance including returns, reconciliations, and payments.
- Manage GST audits, assessments, and litigation.
- Evaluate and advise on tax impact for various real estate transactions (sale of flats, land, JDA, redevelopment, leasing, etc.).
- Handle RERA and stamp duty related tax implications.
- Liaise with consultants and authorities for resolving complex tax matters.
Advisory & Strategic Support:
- Partner with business and project teams to provide tax-efficient structuring solutions.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, GST, and real estate-related tax policies.
- Advise management on tax risks, exposures, and opportunities.
- Lead internal training and awareness programs on tax compliance.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Direct Tax, Indirect Tax (GST), RERA, Stamp Duty & Real Estate Taxation.
- Hands-on experience with tax audits, litigation, and assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to business scenarios.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and tax software.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with specialization/experience in taxation.
- 710 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Real Estate or Infrastructure sector.
- Strong exposure to direct & indirect tax compliance, advisory, and litigation management.
