The role involves managing corporate tax compliance, advisory, and litigation support for clients while ensuring adherence to statutory timelines. The individual will handle tax assessments, filings, audits, and representations before authorities, along with providing advisory support, research, and mentoring junior team members. The position also requires client coordination, business development assistance, and active participation in knowledge-building and firm initiatives.
role & responsibilities
- Adhere to client corporate tax compliance timelines for assessments and filing of returns
- Handle corporate tax mandates and provide advisory support to clients
- Conduct technical research on latest case laws, circulars, and tax updates
- Prepare memos, submissions, and presentations for advisory assignments and assessments
- Assist in scrutiny assessments, rectification, stay applications, and appeals before tax authorities and tribunals
- Support representation before tax authorities and follow up on applications, refunds, and rectifications
- Assist in tax provisioning and tax audit finalization for audit clients
- Apply tax treaties and relevant articles in finalizing tax returns and advisory engagements
- Develop strong technical knowledge and stay updated on tax developments
- Ensure timely billing, maintain client and billing trackers, and follow up for payments and TDS certificates
- Comply with internal risk management policies and client administration requirements
- Assist in engagement letters, time tracking, invoicing, and collection
- Maintain filing and document management for internal reviews
- Coach and develop junior team members on corporate tax concepts
- Support seniors in business development activities
- Prepare and deliver presentations on current topics for internal trainings
- Attend external trainings to stay updated with latest developments
- Participate in firm's CSR activities

- Strong knowledge of direct tax laws, compliance, and corporate tax regulations
- Experience in handling tax assessments, filings, and audit-related processes
- Ability to conduct technical tax research and apply provisions and treaties
- Strong drafting and presentation skills for memos, submissions, and client deliverables
- Good understanding of tax provisioning and tax audit processes
- Proficiency in client management, billing, and internal compliance processes
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills
- Willingness to continuously learn and keep updated with latest tax developments
