Summary:
This position provides highly competitive hands-on experience building a resilient, scalable, high-performance, and AI-enabled platform within a globally recognized technology leader. Responsibilities:
- Independently design, install, operate, upgrade, secure, and troubleshoot mission-critical on-prem Hadoop clusters.
- Reduce manual operational effort and improve reliability through automation and repeatable workflows.
- Operate and troubleshoot on-prem Kubernetes environments that support data platform and internal services alongside Hadoop.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Hadoop platforms and other distributed data processing technologies.
- Experience with Linux & On Prem Cloudera Hadoop Cluster Installation and Administration.
- Bachelor&rsquos degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, or a closely related field.
Required Skills:
- Installation of on-prem Hadoop clusters from scratch on bare metal or VMs.
- Hardware sizing and capacity planning (CPU, memory, storage, network).
- Operating system preparation and tuning (RHEL 6/7/8, kernel, filesystem, ulimits).
- Deployment and lifecycle management of Cloudera platforms (HDP, CDH, CDP) using Cloudera Manager and Ambari.
- In-place and rolling upgrades, including HDP to CDP migrations.
- Administration of Hadoop ecosystem components like HDFS, YARN, Hive, Zookeeper, NiFi, Solr.
- Enterprise security implementation including Kerberos integration with Active Directory, Ranger authorization and auditing, KMS encryption zones, and TLS/SSL configuration.
- Linux OS Administration, Shell Scripting, and Python Automation.
- Installation and administration of on-prem Kubernetes clusters on bare metal or virtualized infrastructure.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Cloud-based Hadoop or EMR experience.
- Hybrid on-prem and cloud architecture knowledge.
