Job Description
We are looking for a Principal Cloud Solution Architect with deep expertise in cloud security, networking, and migration strategy, to lead the architecture and operational excellence of our internal cloud platforms on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role demands a highly strategic thinker with hands-on knowledge of cloud-native design, secure network architecture, and large-scale application/data migrations.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end architecture of internal platforms on OCI, including core networking (VCNs, Subnets, Gateways), compute, storage, and platform services.
Design and implement secure cloud architectures, focusing on zero-trust principles, IAM/IDCS, network segmentation, encryption, and compliance (CIS, NIST).
Lead enterprise-scale cloud migration initiatives (from on-prem, classic cloud, or other providers) assessing workloads, defining migration blueprints, and executing phased transitions with minimal disruption.
Architect highly available and resilient cloud networks, including hybrid connectivity (FastConnect, VPN, DNS, Load Balancers) and multi-region disaster recovery (DR) setups.
Review and approve infrastructure blueprints and IaC implementations (Terraform, OCI Resource Manager) for security, performance, and compliance.
Drive cloud governance and cost optimization strategies across internal environments.
Guide and mentor a cross-functional team of cloud engineers, network admins, and platform operators ensuring best practices in security, monitoring, automation, and support.
Establish and manage incident response, escalation, and 24x7 monitoring frameworks across internal platforms.
Collaborate with application owners and delivery teams to support internal initiatives with secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
Partner with PMs, compliance, and executive leadership to align cloud decisions with business, regulatory, and financial goals.
Support presales and capability development by contributing to solution accelerators, demos, internal decks, and strategic planning documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
10+ years in IT with 8+ years in cloud architecture, including strong hands-on experience in OCI, and exposure to AWS/Azure/GCP is a plus.
Proven expertise in cloud networking and security architecture: VCN design, security lists/NSGs, IAM/IDCS policies, WAF, encryption, and compliance audits.
Strong experience with cloud migrations, application re-platforming, and phased modernization strategies.
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and DevSecOps tooling.
Good understanding of observability and incident management frameworks in cloud environments.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
