Role Description The Senior Study Abroad Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kozhikode, responsible for advising students on suitable international programs and universities aligned with their academic and career goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, assessing student profiles, recommending countries and institutions, and guiding students through application, documentation, scholarship, and financial aid processes. The role involves supporting students with visa procedures, interview preparation, and pre-departure orientation, as well as maintaining accurate records and follow-up communication. The Senior Study Abroad Counselor will collaborate with partner institutions, contribute to marketing and outreach activities such as seminars and information sessions, and mentor junior counselors to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong student counseling and advisory skills, including the ability to assess academic profiles and recommend appropriate international programs.
  • Proficiency in application and admission process management, covering university selection, documentation, deadlines, and scholarship guidance.
  • Knowledge of visa procedures, regulatory requirements, and pre-departure support for multiple study destinations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students, families, and institutional partners.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple student cases, maintain accurate records, and meet timelines.
  • Comfort with basic digital tools and CRM or student management systems to track inquiries and application progress.
  • Prior experience in overseas education consulting or academic advising, ideally in a senior or lead counseling capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Counseling, Management, or a related field; international study or work experience is an added advantage.
