About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Student Counsellor to join our New Zealand specialist team. In this role, you will provide professional education and career guidance to prospective students, helping them identify suitable study pathways that align with their academic background, career objectives, and personal aspirations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional student experiences, building strong client relationships, and supporting students through the entire application and enrolment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert counselling and guidance on international education opportunities and study pathways.
- Assess students academic profiles, career goals, and personal circumstances to recommend suitable institutions and programmes.
- Support students throughout the application, admission, and enrolment process.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with relevant education and privacy requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, educational institutions, and industry partners.
- Stay informed about education sector trends, immigration policies, and institutional requirements.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and respond promptly to student enquiries.
- Assist in education events, seminars, workshops, and promotional activities.
- Contribute to achieving team and organisational recruitment objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in student counselling, education consulting, or career guidance.
- Strong understanding of international education systems and student recruitment processes for New Zealand.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-management abilities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple student cases simultaneously.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in international education consulting or student recruitment.
- Knowledge of New Zealand and other major international study destinations.
- Familiarity with education compliance requirements and student visa processes.
- Multilingual capabilities will be an advantage.
