The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
- The Offshore Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for performing and reviewing structural analysis and design for offshore facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project requirements. The role provides technical support across FEED and detailed design phases, prepares deliverables, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, and supports junior engineers in executing high quality structural engineering work.
- Perform structural analysis and design of Fixed Template Jacket Structures, Lifted Topsides, and Float‑Over Topsides, covering in‑service, pre‑service, and accidental load cases.
- Develop structural models and review engineering calculations, reports, and drawings.
- Support design optimization initiatives and propose technical improvements.
- Coordinate with engineers and designers to ensure timely delivery of structural engineering outputs in line with scope, budget, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Interface with EPC contractors, clients, installation contractors, Marine Warranty Surveyors, and independent verification bodies.
- Contribute to defining design philosophies, analysis methodologies, and acceptance criteria.
- Review structural deliverables for concept, FEED, detailed design, and as‑built documentation.
- Support resolution of technical issues and provide engineering clarifications during project execution.
- Provide guidance to junior structural engineers and check the work produced by designers and analysts.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the project team.
- Support preparation of RFQs, review vendor documents, and contribute to technical bid evaluations (TBEs) for items such as steel plates, hot‑rolled sections, welded tubulars, EADs, grout seals, LMUs, anodes, etc.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 14–20 years of relevant industry experience in offshore structural engineering.
- Strong background in analysis and design of Fixed Template Structures, FPSO modules, and offshore renewables (wind, hydrogen, CCS).
- Experience working on FEED/EPC projects for major clients.
- Good understanding of geotechnical aspects related to offshore and subsea structures.
- Knowledge of steel material grades, testing requirements, and fabrication‑related specifications.
- Proficiency in analysis of float‑over/lifted topsides and launched/lifted jackets.
- Good understanding of weight control for offshore structures.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 19901, ISO 19902, AISC‑360, API (WSD & LRFD), DNV codes.
- Hands‑on experience with structural analysis tools such as SACS, SESAM, USFOS, ANSYS, ABAQUS, STAAD.
- Strong communication abilities to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with sound engineering judgment while collaborating with larger project teams.
