Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience to perform engineering and consulting services for clients in the U.S. and U.K. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and extensive experience with the analysis and design of T&D Substation structures and foundations. This role requires a self-motivated professional with advanced technical skills who can also mentor junior engineers and lead project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural Analysis & Design: Perform structural design from the conceptual phase through completion. This includes the analysis and design of structures made from steel or aluminum, rigid bus bars, and concrete foundations for various equipment like breakers and transformers. You will also be responsible for rebar schedules and oil containment designs.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to less experienced engineers. You will be responsible for quality control (QA/QC) process adherence and will perform quality reviews of production drawings and engineering documents.
  • Project Execution: Participate in the development of drawings, proposals, and procurement packages. You will prepare conceptual designs, material take-offs, and cost estimates. You must be capable of solving complex problems that require adapting and modifying standard approaches.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate design activities with other disciplines both in India and abroad. You will be responsible for effective communication with other engineering teams and for supporting recruitment initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of related experience, with a focus on substation structures and equipment foundations. Experience with U.S. and U.K. projects is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of industry codes and standards like AISC, ACI, IBC, IEEE, BS, and EU. Strong computer skills, including structural analysis programs like RISA 3D and Staad.Pro. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. You must be able to make presentations, compose detailed reports, and effectively manage your workload. The ability to mentor and collaborate with a diverse team is essential.
