L3: Lead Storage Engineer // 7-9 Years+
Responsibilities -
- Leading & Mentoring team of L1/L2 storage engineers in Data Center 24*7 environment.
- Monitoring - Dashboard, Alerts, Incidents, Etc.
- Reports QA (Checker)
- Coordinate with different teams on alerts
- Prepare and maintain team roster
- Manage timely escalations
- Maintain escalation matrix
- Maintain monitoring scope & coverage
- Help Teams in resolving technical issues & coordinating with OEM on escalations
- Follow-up for long pending Tickets & calls
- Participate in daily monitoring call and discuss all critical alerts & observations
- Consolidate and reconcile rule changes on firewalls, compare (audit) same with ServiceNow change request, Analyse and highlight gaps on daily basis.
- Optimize storage alerts with identification and segregation of false, non-actionable & actionable alerts
- Coordinate with monitoring tools team & vendor for anomalies, threshold changes, missing devices, reachability issues
- participate in finding out RCA's, writing postmortems (report) of critical incidents.
- Additional activities/initiatives to take DC Storage monitoring to next level
- Coordinate with tool admins to Ensure Devices, new inductions and De-Inductions included in monitoring tools.
- Maintain missed alerts registry
- Coordinate with Storage PM for smooth project execution
Skill Requirements -
- 7-9 Years plus experience in storage domain
- Experience on Storages belonging to IBM, NetApp, Hitachi, HPE(Nimble, 3PAR, Primera), DELLEMC.
- Experience and troubleshooting knowledge on Brocade SAN switches
- Understanding of overall Storage, SSD, RAID, NAS & SAN switch architecture and consepts.
- Knowledge on Storage vendors OEM monitoring tools.
- Knowledge on SANnav, stor2rrd or Hitachi HyperOps storage monitoring tools
- Basic Knowledge of ServiceNow Ticketing
- Exposure on troubleshooting SAN Storage incidentsIssues.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Good knowledge on Excel(for preparing reports).
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- ITIL or any storage product certification preferred
