Senior Storage Architect - Ceph / Software-Defined Storage. UIDAI Technology Centre, Bengaluru. On-site.

Design and run the software-defined storage and data-centre network backbone behind Aadhaar, one of the largest digital identity platforms in the world. UIDAI's Technology Centre in Bengaluru is scaling out open-source SDS, and we are hiring one architect to own that design end to end.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of Software-Defined Storage and network platforms.
• Design and operate open-source SDS in production (CEPH preferred): pool design, data path optimisation, failure domain planning and performance tuning.
• Architect on-premises, cloud and hybrid storage across Object, Block and File.
• Design WAN and data-centre backbone architectures using BGP, OSPF and MPLS.
• Oversee storage and backup across CEPH, NetApp, HPE, EMC, Azure and AWS, including Virtual Tape Libraries.
• Produce HLD and LLD, DR strategies, capacity plans and data-migration roadmaps.
• Partner with network, compute, monitoring and security teams on integrated delivery, and ensure governance compliance with architecture frameworks.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 10+ years in enterprise infrastructure architecture.
• 3+ years hands-on with CEPH or an equivalent open-source SDS platform in production. Please state the platform, cluster scale and your own role in your CV.
• 3+ years designing WAN or data-centre networks (BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Working knowledge of Linux.
• Depth in at least two of: CEPH, NetApp, HPE, AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Distributed storage systems, high-availability clusters, multi-site resilience and replication strategies.
• BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA or equivalent.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Container networking (Calico or another Kubernetes CNI).
• Multi-datacentre or mission-critical government, BFSI or telecom environments.
• CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or PCNSE certification.
• Post-graduation in technology.

Please note: this is an architecture role, not a SAN/NAS administration role. Hands-on production experience with CEPH or an equivalent open-source SDS platform is what we screen on first.
