Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

The Power & Signal Integrity Group (PSIG) operates within the Central Hardware Systems (CHS) division of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., collaborating with various business units to deliver advanced products to market.

The selected candidate will function within a collaborative team environment, working alongside a lead SI/PI engineer to contribute electrical design expertise focused on signal integrity and power integrity for a range of products and development systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to an extensive portfolio of innovative products, including IoT devices, automotive solutions, computing technologies, cloud and data center platforms, mobile handsets, and XR applications. Based in Bangalore, India, the engineer will engage with the CHS (PSIG) team to conduct analyses and offer guidance on signal and power integrity, while functionally reporting to CHS in San Diego, US. The role requires effective cross-organizational communication, thorough documentation, and clear presentation of analytical results. Close collaboration with IC Packaging and System Design teams is expected, under the supervision of a lead SI engineer and following established PSIG methodologies. This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of analysis methodologies within the group.

The Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Performing IO analyses—such as DDR memory and serial interfaces—by applying established techniques that cover everything from model extraction to simulation and reporting.
  • Evaluating SOC Floorplan, IC bump outs, packaging layout and pinmap, High speed PCB layout analysis using EM tools like HFSS, and designing PDN power distribution networks, as well as offering guidance for system-level design.
  • Conducting post-silicon lab measurements, SIPI correlation studies, and developing methodologies.
  • Engaging actively in conferences and contributing to publish papers.
  • Recording and presenting key findings during meetings.

Requirements (12+ years):


  • Knowledge of electromagnetic theory, transmission lines, signal/power integrity
  • Experience with commercial 3D EM field solvers, SI/RF analysis tools, SPICE and IBIS models
  • DDR/LPDDR and high-speed SerDes interfaces SIPI
  • Familiarity with HSPICE, Ansys, Cadence SIPI tools, Keysight ADS, EM tools like HFSS, any industry wide SI/PI tools,
  • Expertise in MATLAB, AI/ML skills, advanced Spreadsheet analysis
  • Exposure to PCB and Package layout design tool (Mentor, Cadence)
