  • Architect, design and implement scalable, highperformance distributed backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture and AWS services.
  • Own architecture and design for critical platform engineering initiatives.
  • Build clean, maintainable, welltested, productionquality Java services.
  • Design and implement solutions leveraging system design patterns that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and resilience.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS best practices (IaC, autoscaling, resilient architectures).
  • Optimize systems for cost, performance, reliability, and security in cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring high system reliability.
  • Influence technical vision, architecture direction, and longterm engineering strategy on platform engineering team.
  • Lead technical designs, architecture reviews and code reviews to maintain engineering excellence.
  • Mentor and guide engineers on system design, testing strategies, distributed systems concepts and cloudnative development.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration to align on dependencies, architectural decisions, and shared platform components.
  • Champion engineering best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Continuously improve system observability, reliability, and performance across distributed environments.
  • You will report to the Senior Manager or Director of Engineering

Qualifications

  • You are required to have 10+ years of professional experience in backend services, distributed systems or platform engineering.
  • Proven track record architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Extensive experience in system design, performance engineering, scalability, and reliability.
  • Deep understanding of AWS cloud services, architecture patterns, and cloud-native design principles.
  • Experience designing and supporting multi-tenant distributed platforms.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and networking.
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release engineering.
  • Experience with container orchestration and runtime platforms (Kubernetes, EKS/ECS), and serverless patterns (Lambda).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed data technologies such as Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
  • Good understanding of batch processing, data pipelines, and analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of job orchestration systems such as AWS Step Functions, Airflow, or event-driven workflow engines.
