Senior Staff Architect

Roles & responsibilities:

Lead the discovery phase of large projects to come up with a high-level architecture

and design.

Lead the cross functional architecture teams to identify the impact and work with them

to deliver the architecture and design.

Work with a team of Architects and Tech Leads to define, own and implement the

architecture.

Run the architecture and design review meetings.

Develop, own and manage functional architecture for one or more domains

Provide technical leadership, architecture and design solutions of digital capabilities

and business opportunities within Browse, Search and Selection domain to enable

creation of impactful customer experiences/engagement across channels and markets

for Albertsons customers.

Drive the architecture and design of modern user interfaces for both web and mobile

interface based on consumer design principles for next generation user interface

platform.

Keep up to date on cutting edge/emerging solutions/technologies on Cloud, IoT,

Mobile, Progressive Web Apps, Single Page Apps, Content Management System,

AI/ML, Social etc.

Define data and integration architectures to support automation and own the detail

integration patterns for integrating catalog solutions.

Work closely with Product Management, Architecture, Data Engineering, Quality

Engineering, and Information Security groups to define and deliver the overall solution

including contributing to roadmap of backlog of priorities.

Participate in Architecture Review of solutions within the Domain and for the other

domains.

Continuous partnership with enterprise architecture team, cross functional teams,

including vendor partners, to ensure all solutions are being developed with continuity of

the enterprise solution ecosystem, while meeting all security, data governance, legal,

risk and compliance standards.

Collaborate with Enterprise and Data Architecture teams to shape enterprise

architecture guardrails, standards, and patterns.

Ensure quality guidelines and control processes are created and implemented for the

technology platforms and products working with engineering teams.

Partners with Tech Leads and Architects in driving modular, services-oriented

integration and solution architectures.

Experience Required:

Experience working on enterprise strategies, vision and roadmap.

Experience working with Senior Leadership in Product and Engineering delivering

architecture, design and solution of Key Strategic initiatives

Experience working in or leading the cross functional architecture teams to deliver the

architecture and design.

Experience architecting, designing, and implementing highly-distributed, scalable and

resilient cloud-based systems for eCommerce Industry, and experience in cloud

infrastructure, security, data, or application development.

Experience mentoring Solution Architects and Tech lead

Broad expertise and knowledge of eCommerce/Merchandizing/Retail/Supply Chain

ecosystem and in depth knowledge of relevant technologies.

Broad expertise and knowledge of full-stack web application technologies.

Broad expertise and knowledge of Software Design patterns and how they can be

implemented for best in class results.

Broad expertise and knowledge of fundamental architectural principles and

frameworks (MVC, Spring Boot, etc.)

10+ years acting as an Architect building secure, highly available, resilient, scalable

distributed systems leveraging clustering and load balancing of web servers, app

servers, and messaging systems.

10+ years experience in the design, development, use of component-based UI

architectures and practical programming (hands-on) experience (NodeJs, JavaScript,

Angular, React, Web components and Microservices).

7+ years acting as an Enterprise architect for major systems and their subsystems.

Additional consideration for experience working with high volume ECommerce

websites.

Excellent level understanding of the HTML DOM and underlying event model.

Strong experience in web standards, accessibility standards by Americans with

Disabilities Act

Strong experience in Mobile App standards for both iOS and Android devices.

Broad expertise and knowledge of Microservice architecture, Java technologies and

framework, high-frequency data/event streaming architecture and NoSQL/RDMS.

Broad expertise and knowledge of best practices around systems integration, security,

performance, and data management.

Experience in implementing ecommerce Search using Google Retail Search or Elastic

or similar platform is an additional strength.

Experience in Kubernetes, Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Jenkins, Kafka, React, GraphQL,

Databricks.

Ability to assess product management and marketing business needs and translate

these requirements into efficient and scalable digital marketing solutions.

Broad expertise and knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and software

development methodologies (Agile, Iterative development).

Strong experience in software architecture and design.

Experience in cloud services architecture, technical design, and implementations

(IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Experience leading architecture and design for complex programs across multiple

Strong background in microservices architecture, design patterns, and best practices.

Proficiency in Kubernetes, Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Jenkins.

Hands-on experience with cloud computing application implementations on Azure and

Google Cloud.

Excellent understanding of architectural principles for SaaS and multi-tenant platforms.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing, collaboration, and negotiation skills.

Ability to mentor technical leads and architects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to provide technical oversight and review technical designs and deployment

architectures.

Experience in creating secure, robust, scalable, and modular solutions.

Experience in Retail, eCommerce, Digital and Data Products, GenAI.

Knowledge of GenAI, LLM, AI & ML, Data Science.

Familiarity with Kafka, React, GraphQL, Security Vault framework, Redis/Varnish

cache, and Spark.

Good understanding of Mobile/Web Technologies and UI Frameworks.

Experience in cloud logging methodologies for metrics, application logging, and

tracing.

Experience in DevOps culture.

Experience with emerging technologies like Machine Learning, voice, bots, and IoT.

Prior experience in Grocery Retail or Retail in general
