Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior SQL Developer / SQL Specialist who can independently analyze complex business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable database solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in
SQL development, performance tuning, and database design, with the ability to work on large datasets and optimize legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities SQL Development & Optimization
- Analyze and understand complex stored procedures and existing database logic
- Develop, modify, and optimize stored procedures, functions, and views
- Write efficient and scalable complex SQL queries involving joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions
- Perform query performance tuning and optimization for large datasets
- Refactor legacy SQL code to improve performance, readability, and maintainability
Database Design & Management
- Design and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships
- Implement indexing strategies (clustered, non-clustered, covering indexes)
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across systems
- Work with both transactional and analytical databases
Collaboration & Data Solutions
- Translate business requirements into SQL-based solutions
- Collaborate with application and business teams to ensure correct implementation of logic
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and performance bottlenecks
- Support data migration, integration, and transformation initiatives
Required Skills & Experience- 7+ years of experience in SQL development
- Strong expertise in:
- Writing complex stored procedures
- Creating and optimizing views and queries
- Working with joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions
- Deep understanding of query execution plans and performance tuning
- Strong experience with indexing strategies
- Solid understanding of database design, normalization, and denormalization
- Experience working with large-scale datasets
- Ability to independently handle and implement complex business logic in SQL
Good to Have
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server / Azure SQL Database / Snowflake
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Exposure to tools such as:
- SSIS / Azure Data Factory
- dbt
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python / PowerShell) for automation
