Job Description
- Supervise a team of field technicians engaged in overhead fiber maintenance, proactive maintenance activities, and fiber laying projects.
- Plan and coordinate daily work schedules, assignments, and priorities to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and projects.
- Conduct regular inspections of overhead fiber routes to identify potential hazards, vulnerabilities, or signs of deterioration that could lead to fiber cuts.
- Implement proactive maintenance measures, such as tree trimming, pole reinforcement, and route diversification, to minimize the risk of fiber cuts and service disruptions.
- Monitor fiber assets, including cables, connectors, splices, and termination points, to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to facilitate the execution of fiber laying projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians, assisting with troubleshooting, equipment operation, and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, asset inventory, work orders, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on network performance, maintenance challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in fiber optic network maintenance and installation.
