About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join the Asia Data & Analytics (D&A) Platform team at Sun Life. This is a high-impact role where you will work closely with cross-functional squads building reusable data products and enabling data-driven business transformations across Sun Life's Asia markets.

You will work with a fast-moving team accustomed to Agile ways of working. Your primary mission will be to drive outcomes, remove impediments, and continuously enhance team performance while fostering a collaborative and empowering environment.

This role demands someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and has a strong understanding of data management principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinements).
• Drive team outcomes by helping the team set clear sprint goals, tracking progress, and delivering value consistently.
• Remove impediments to the team's progress, working proactively across functional teams, platform stakeholders, and leadership.
• Coach the team on Agile principles and best practices, tailoring methods to fit the team's needs.
• Enable continuous improvement by guiding retrospectives to actionable outcomes.
• Protect the team from external disruptions and maintain focus on sprint objectives.
• Ensure transparency through effective use of JIRA and Agile tools.
• Support Product Owners in backlog management and prioritization.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for improving Agile maturity.
• Bring an understanding of Data Management principles to better support platform and analytics development squads.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7-12 years experience in Agile delivery, with at least 2 years as a Scrum Master.
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and principles.
• Prior experience in data, analytics, or data management projects preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Miro).
• Understanding of data management concepts (data ingestion, ETL, governance, metadata).
• Professional certifications (CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe Scrum Master) are a plus.
