About The Role
Deliver senior‑level product safety authoring, classification and regulatory interpretation for a global product portfolio, ensuring high‑quality SDS/label content, accurate mixture classification, and compliant notifications while mentor specialists and partnering with other team members cross‑functionally!
Key Accountabilities
Lead SDS and Label Authoring Activities: Take ownership for complex SDS authoring and label content creation and updates, ensuring scientific accuracy, regulatory compliance and global alignment. Conduct and lead peer reviews, maintain consistency across product lines, and proactively identify content improvements.
Perform Advanced Hazard Classification & Assessments: Apply expert‑level GHS/EU CLP/US OSHA/Other hazard classification to substances and mixtures, resolving borderline cases, interpreting tox/ecotox data where possible, and advising colleagues on appropriate risk language and product hazard conclusions
Translate Regulatory Changes Into Practical Implementation: Monitor evolving global hazard communication and other associated regulations (e.g., CLP revisions, new hazard classes, eSDS updates, regional changes), assess impacts on product portfolios, and convert requirements into clear, actionable plans for GPS and business participants

Prepare & Lead Notifications and Submissions: Deliver high‑quality regulatory notifications and dossiers (e.g., Canada HMIRA, PCN/UFI, CLP updates), ensure documentation is audit‑ready, and support responses to regulatory authorities or customer‑requested compliance documentation.
Partner with Global Stakeholders Across the Value Chain: Act as a senior technical contact for R&D/Technology, Product Management, Supply Chain, Legal and HSE teams, offering clear mentorship on product safety impacts, documentation needs, and timelines to support business continuity and compliant product launches.
Drive Systems Use, Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Use authoring platforms (e.g., Sphera IA, SAP EHS, Lisam, 3E, UL WERCS) proficiently; support UAT, regression testing, and enhancements; produce compliance reports; and drive improvements in templates, data structures, and quality systems!
Essential Education & Experience
- Bachelor's in Chemistry or related science degree. Advanced degree preferred (toxicology/ecotox advantageous).
- 5 – 8 years in Product Safety/HazCom/Product Stewardship including senior authoring, global mixture classification and regulatory notification for multiple regions.
- GHS/EU CLP/US OSHA/Other HazCom; eSDS/exposure scenarios; Dangerous Goods awareness (UN/ADR/IMDG/IATA)
- SDS/label governance, templates, multilingual outputs; strong quality mindset
- Authoring platforms (Sphera IA, SAP EHS, Lisam, 3E, UL WERCS) ; data integrity and version control
