Senior Specialist - Catastrophe Risk Management

Key Responsibilities:

• Catastrophe Risk Modeling & Analysis:
• Develop and maintain catastrophe risk models to assess potential exposures from various natural hazards.
• Perform detailed analysis of risk data, identify exposure hotspots, and generate risk reports to guide strategic decision-making.
• Monitor emerging trends in catastrophe risk and provide insights into changing patterns and risks.
• Risk Mitigation Strategy Development:
• Assist in the development of catastrophe risk mitigation strategies, including reinsurance, alternative risk financing, and other loss prevention mechanisms.
• Recommend and implement improvements to catastrophe risk management processes and tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize risk transfer strategies and limit potential losses.
• Data Management & Reporting:
• Manage and analyze catastrophe-related data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Develop and present detailed risk reports to senior management, highlighting areas of concern, risk exposure, and proposed solutions.
• Utilize risk management software and tools to model, track, and report on catastrophe risks.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and other stakeholders to understand risk appetite and ensure alignment on catastrophe risk strategy.
• Participate in the design and execution of stress-testing scenarios and scenario-based risk assessments.
• Provide technical expertise and training to team members and other departments as needed.
• Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards:
• Ensure that all risk management practices comply with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes and evolving catastrophe risk management standards.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in catastrophe risk management, modeling tools, and technologies.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance existing catastrophe risk management methodologies and frameworks.
