Sr. Desktop EngineerOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Desktop Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining operating system images for both Windows and Mac environments, and for pioneering innovative solutions for over-the-air provisioning of laptops. This role is critical in reducing manual intervention by our helpdesk staff and streamlining the laptop setup process.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and maintain robust operating system images for Windows and Mac platforms.Design and implement mechanisms for over-the-air provisioning of laptops, minimizing the need for manual intervention during setup.Automate repetitive tasks related to laptop deployment and configuration.Collaborate with the helpdesk team to identify and resolve pain points in the current laptop setup process.Provide technical expertise and support for desktop-related issues, ensuring high levels of user satisfaction.Research and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance desktop management and provisioning.Maintain documentation for all developed images, scripts, and processes.QualificationsProven experience in developing and maintaining Windows and Mac operating system images.Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and system management.Experience with modern login mechanisms not tied to traditional data center Active Directory, such as Azure Active Directory, Okta, or similar identity management technologies.Preferred QualificationsExperience with BigFix for endpoint management.Familiarity with other endpoint management tools (e.g., Jamf, Microsoft Intune).Experience with virtualization technologies.Strong understanding of network protocols and security best practices.s
