Experience:
· 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years in senior data and cloud architecture roles.
· Has personally led, from design through cutover, the modernization of a large enterprise data estate (legacy SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and reporting) onto a modern cloud platform such as Microsoft Fabric or Azure.
· Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, and medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architecture.

Scope and Authority
Leads: the full data modernization program, from India.
Direct reports (proposed): Lead Data Engineer, Data Governance Lead, and the senior Project Coordinator/Manager. All other roles report through them.
Decides: platform design and technical standards, program priorities (including which AI use cases come first), sequencing of migration work, and build-versus-buy calls on tooling.
Escalates to: the executive sponsor for budget changes, headcount changes, and cross-department priorities.
Location:Gurugram first 6-month office based. After that in hybrid mode
Day-to-Day
· Set the technical direction for the new data platform, including how AI will run on it, and keep the design consistent across the team.
· Review and approve major designs from the Lead Data Engineer, ETL Engineers, and BI Developers before they are built.
· Own the program plan: migration phases, milestones, and sequencing in one plan.
· Run a weekly leadership meeting with the direct reports, and a monthly review of milestones, risks, and budget with the executive sponsor.
· Agree the order of migration with the business units, based on business value and data readiness, and agree with them which AI use cases come first.
· Work with the Data Governance Lead so that catalog, ownership, and access rules (and responsible-AI rules) are in place before data is released to the business.
· Represent the program to Vascor leadership and the board; explain trade-offs in plain language.
· Coach the senior hires and unblock cross-team technical disputes.
· Lead hiring for the first waves: interview and approve every senior and lead hire.
Performance Measures
· Technical approach and program plan delivered in Month 1 and signed off by the executive sponsor.
· Program milestones hit on schedule across the wave plan (environment up by Months 2-3, bulk migration in Months 4-6, validation from Month 7).
· Governance foundation (catalog, data domains, stewards) in place on the planned timeline.
· First AI use cases delivered on plan: prototypes by Months 4-6, first AI feature by Months 7-9.
· Hiring plan adherence: roles filled per wave, and quality of hires (retention and ramp time).
· Design-related rework and incidents downstream (fewer is better).
· Platform performance against design targets once live (query latency, mirroring lag, uptime).
· Leadership satisfaction and team health: direct-report retention and engagement.
