About the Role
AWS is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our Developer Transformation team in India. You'll work with some of India's largest enterprises, ISVs, GSIs, and FSI organizations to help their engineering teams fundamentally change how they build software - using AI as the catalyst for productivity improvements.
This is a customer-facing technical role at the intersection of architecture, hands-on coding, and executive engagement. You'll spend most of your time in complex enterprise environments, convincing skeptical engineering leaders that AI coding tools are worth the change management effort, then proving it hands-on with their teams. You'll guide engineering organizations comprising thousands of developers to adopt AI-augmented development practices - helping them rethink their SDLC, adopt AI coding tools and agents at scale, and build the culture that makes the transformation stick.
What we need: a strong solutions architect who can code credibly, earn trust with developers, communicate at the CXO level, and think strategically about how large organizations evolve their engineering practices in the AI era.

. Primary Location: India (Bangalore)
. Geographic Focus: India market customers across GSI, ISV, and FSI segments
. Collaboration: Part of a global Developer Transformation team with opportunities for international collaboration
. Travel: Willingness to travel within India and occasionally internationally as needed
Key job responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Transformation
. Own a portfolio of 3-5 strategic enterprise accounts per half, driving measurable developer productivity improvements (target: 2X+ on key workflows) from initial engagement through sustained adoption.
. Lead engagements with enterprise customers (ISVs, GSIs, FSI, Fortune 500), driving full engineering organization transformation beyond workload migrations
. Work hands-on with customer developers - from prompt patterns and context management to integrating AI tools into existing workflows and CI/CD pipelines
. Engage directly with C-level executives (CTOs, CIOs, VPs of Engineering) to articulate technical vision and business value of developer productivity improvements
. Design and deliver hands-on workshops that demonstrate measurable productivity gains
. Conduct architecture reviews and provide prescriptive guidance on cloud-native patterns, microservices, DevOps, and domain-driven design
. Design harness engineering and context engineering strategies for customers engineering organizations
. Identify and nurture technical champions within customer engineering organizations who carry adoption forward
Technical Execution
. Build tools, accelerators, and reference implementations that help development teams adopt AI-augmented workflows across their SDLC - from design through testing and deployment
. Write well-structured code that is credible to senior engineers - prototypes, demos, and production quality tools and accelerators
. Create proof-of-concepts showing how AI coding agents integrate into real-world enterprise development environments at scale
. Design end-to-end solutions spanning frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure layers
. Evaluate and recommend modern development tools, frameworks, and AWS services for customer use cases
. Deliver tools and accelerators that see active adoption beyond the initial workshop - measured by customer teams continuing to use them 90+ days post-engagement
Thought Leadership & Content
. Create high-quality technical content: reference architectures, blog posts, white papers, and code samples focused on the AI-era developer experience.
. Develop reusable frameworks that help teams measure and improve how they work with AI development tools
. Collaborate with AWS service teams to provide voice-of-customer feedback and influence product roadmaps
. Contribute to global team initiatives on innovation and research
Collaboration & Influence
. Work with account teams to identify transformation opportunities, develop and own engagement strategies
. Partner with Training & Certification teams to scale developer enablement programs
. Mentor other Solutions Architects on modern development practices and AI-augmented workflows
. Share learnings across the global Developer Transformation organization
A day in the life
One day you're in a customer's office running a hands-on session where a 20-person dev team builds a working feature using AI coding agents, helping them discover which prompting strategies produce better code, how to structure their repos for better AI context, and where human judgment still matters most. You enable this team to deliver weeks of work in hours.
The next day you're presenting a transformation roadmap to a CTO, mapping out how their 15,000-developer org evolves its SDLC to take full advantage of AI tooling across design, coding, testing, and deployment. You help them design their harness engineering strategies, and you identify the champions in their org who'll carry the change forward.
Between engagements, you're building: a reusable onboarding tool for AI-assisted workflows, a blog post on enterprise adoption patterns you've seen work at scale, or a reference architecture that shows how AI coding tools fit into enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
About the team
The Developer Transformation team is part of AWS's Worldwide Technology Organization. Our mission: help enterprises fundamentally improve how their engineering teams build software, using AI as the catalyst. We work with India's largest organizations - guiding them to compress development timelines from months to days, improve code quality, and scale engineering productivity across tens of thousands of developers. The team operates with high ownership and autonomy. You'll own customer relationships end-to-end while contributing to a global community of practice.
- 13+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
- Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
