Job Description

Summary:

The Senior Architect owns the end-to-end technical vision for replacing the Company's Shipping Notice legacy system. Responsibilities include architecture design, Agent Harness configuration, CI/CD pipeline setup, and ensuring every engineering decision is captured in Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). The Architect works closely with the Enterprise Architect and sets the quality standards enforced by AI quality wardens throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities:

Finalize and document the target architecture: Angular 21 frontend, Spring Boot 4.x / Java 23 backend, PostgreSQL 17, AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, ALB), OAuth 2.1/Okta SSO.
Produce logical, physical, and sequence diagrams define OpenAPI 3.1 API standards author all ADRs.
Configure and maintain the Agent Harness — the orchestration layer that governs AI agent execution — and deploy quality wardens (Architecture, Security, Process, Integration, Test Coverage).
Design and implement the full CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions AWS CodePipeline) with quality gates enforcing &ge80% unit test coverage.
Lead the SQL Server to PostgreSQL 17 schema transformation strategy: 127 active stored procedures to Spring Data JPA, data type mapping, referential integrity, and parallel-run rollback planning.
Define SAP integration layer (GL, AP posting), API Gateway (Spring Cloud Gateway), OAuth 2.0 token validation, and ECCN/export compliance data flows.
Implement OWASP Top 10 remediation, SAST/DAST pipeline integration, RBAC at application and database layers, and SOX-compliant audit trail.
Conduct architecture walkthrough sessions and pair programming as part of the knowledge transfer plan.

Requirements:

8 years software architecture experience on enterprise Java/Spring Boot applications.

Required Skills:

Deep expertise in Angular (v17), Spring Boot 4.x, Java 21, and PostgreSQL.
Experience designing OAuth 2.1/OIDC authentication flows (Okta or equivalent).
Hands-on AWS architecture: EC2, RDS, S3, ALB, CodePipeline.
CI/CD pipeline design with GitHub Actions quality gates and SAST/DAST integration.
Database migration experience: schema transformation, stored procedure conversion, parallel-run strategies.
Configuring AI-agentic development environments (Claude Code or similar).
Agentic AI – LLM, MCP, Langchain, Langgraph, RAG.
SAP integration experience (GL/AP posting, interface boundary design).
Strong documentation skills: ADRs, OpenAPI specs, sequence diagrams.
