Looking for a Senior Software Tester with 5–7 years of experience in POS systems, with strong expertise in manual testing and hands-on exposure to POS automation, payment gateways, and end-to-end transaction validation. The candidate should be comfortable working as an individual contributor, while also being willing to take on additional responsibilities when needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently analyse business and functional requirements to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases covering real-time POS transaction flows, including positive, negative, and exception scenarios.
- Drive smoke, functional, regression, and exploratory testing across web, mobile, and POS applications while validating transactions, response codes, and payment workflows.
- Collaborate closely with product, development, and business teams, perform detailed peer reviews, track defects effectively, and communicate testing progress, risks, and release readiness with clarity.
- Identify opportunities for POS test automation and contribute towards improving automation coverage and overall test efficiency.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of STLC, defect lifecycle, and manual testing approaches including functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI, along with strong SQL skills for backend validation and transaction reconciliation.
- Exposure to POS automation frameworks or experience in automating POS transaction scenarios will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently drive activities while also supporting team coordination responsibilities.

Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of POS systems integrated with payment gateways, including authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation process and real-time transaction processing.
- Hands-on experience strong analytical skills in validating real-time POS transaction scenarios across card-present, contactless, chip, magnetic stripe, QR, and fallback transactions.
- Good knowledge of POS hardware and peripherals such as card readers, PIN pads, receipt printers, scanners, and network connectivity.
- Strong understanding of ISO 8583 / ISO 20022 standards, response codes, transaction errors, retry handling, log validations and exception scenarios.
- Experience with EMV, NFC, tokenization, encryption/decryption, merchant onboarding, device configuration, batch closure, and settlement validation.
