Senior Software Test Engineer I (Automation, Python)

ConnectWise is seeking a Sr. Software Test Engineer I to drive quality across web, API, and cloud-based applications. This role combines strong testing expertise with hands-on automation development using Python, helping teams deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality software in an Agile environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test strategies.

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Python.

• Automate UI, API, and backend testing using tools such as PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, and Robot Framework.

• Validate REST APIs, databases, and microservices-based applications.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and track defects through resolution.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

• Mentor junior engineers and promote quality engineering best practices.

• Demonstrates hands-on experience with AI-powered engineering and developer productivity tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI assistants to accelerate test design, automation development, debugging, code reviews, and quality engineering activities.

• Leverages AI tools to improve test coverage, generate and optimize automated test scenarios, analyze defects, enhance productivity, and drive overall quality engineering effectiveness while adhering to organizational security and compliance standards.

• Applies automation best practices and modern Quality Engineering techniques to build scalable, maintainable, and reliable testing solutions that support continuous delivery and rapid product innovation.
