Job Title

Senior Software Technologist I

Job Description

Job Title: Sr. SW Technologist I

Your Role:

Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Own and evolve the architecture of .NET-based medical applications, with a strong focus on imaging platforms and health data exchange.

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems supporting clinical workflows and large imaging datasets.

  • Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across teams.

Advanced Imaging & Interoperability

  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced DICOM workflows, including Storage, Query/Retrieve, Modality Worklist, and cross-system integrations.

  • Drive FHIR-based interoperability strategy, designing robust, versioned RESTful APIs aligned with HL7 standards and enterprise integration needs.

  • Ensure seamless interoperability across imaging systems, clinical systems, and enterprise health platforms.

Software Engineering Excellence

  • Develop complex and business-critical components in C#/.NET, setting a benchmark for code quality, testability, and performance.

  • Apply advanced performance optimization, memory management, and concurrency patterns relevant to high-throughput medical systems.

  • Guide teams in secure software development, with particular focus on patient data protection, cybersecurity, and privacy-by-design.

AI-Augmented Development & Productivity

  • Champion effective use of GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while maintaining high engineering standards.

  • Establish guardrails for AI-assisted code generation, including review, validation, and compliance considerations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a technical interface to product owners, radiologists, health IT specialists, and system architects.

  • Translate clinical and business requirements into robust technical designs and implementation plans.

  • Influence technical roadmaps and support prioritization decisions with data-driven insights.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure solutions comply with applicable medical device and healthcare regulations (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, HIPAA/GDPR, SaMD where applicable).

  • Identify technical risks early and proactively drive mitigation strategies.

  • Support audits, design controls, and documentation with a pragmatic engineering mindset.

Mentorship & Engineering Culture

  • Mentor CG50 and junior engineers, providing technical guidance, career coaching, and feedback.

  • Lead and moderate design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence.

Expected Impact at CG60

  • Technical decisions influence multiple teams or products, not just a single component.

  • Recognized as a go-to expert for C#, imaging interoperability, or system architecture.

  • Raises overall engineering maturity through standards, tooling, and mentorship.

  • Balances innovation with regulatory rigor in a healthcare environment.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have Bachelor's of Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of professional software development experience, with deep expertise in C#/.NET.

  • Strong hands-on experience with DICOM and HL7 FHIR in production medical systems.

  • Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale, distributed, or high-availability systems.

  • Deep understanding of secure software design in regulated healthcare environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technically without formal people management responsibility.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), microservices, and containerization.

  • Exposure to medical imaging pipelines, PACS/VNA systems, or AI-assisted imaging workflows.

  • Experience influencing technical strategy across a portfolio rather than a single product.
