Backend/API Developer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Backend/API Developer with a strong focus on test automation and quality engineering. The ideal candidate will create and maintain high-quality test automation, apply automated tests across the application stack, and produce metrics that support data-driven decision-making. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is embedded in all development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality test automation using modern development techniques.
• Apply automated tests at every layer of the application stack, both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline.
• Produce and analyze metrics that illustrate application quality and contribute to quality engineering decisions.
• Triage test failures promptly and accurately to maintain the health of the build pipeline.
• Collaborate with development, product, operations, and support teams to promote quality as a key design element.
• Engage in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
  
  

Mandatory Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related quantitative field.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in software development or automated testing in Python or similar languages.
• Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing.
• Working experience with RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience using Agile development practices.
• Familiarity with various cloud environments and concepts.
• Deal Breaker Skill: Dataplex.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CI/CD pipeline and associated tools (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, GitHub).
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Python.
• Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Golang).
• Programming and debugging skills with an understanding of software architecture and testing principles.
• Exposure to BDD and I18N testing.
• Experience with performance and resiliency testing.
• Experience with Linux.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based application development.
