Job Description
Drive Strategy: Lead and execute the endtoend testing strategy for ChromeOS Flex across an extensive range of x86 hardware architectures.
Ensure Quality: Guarantee stability, performance, and compatibility of ChromeOS Flex on diverse, nonChromebook hardware.
Test Strategy & Planning: Define comprehensive test strategies for new ChromeOS Flex releases and hardware certifications, addressing challenges such as hardware diversity, UEFI Secure Boot, and TPM variations.
Test Case Development : Design, implement, and maintain automated and Manual tests based on infrastructure, primarily leveraging Tast while integrating with existing ChromeOS systems.
RootCause Analysis: Oversee test execution and perform indepth analysis of complex failures to provide actionable insights.
Bug Lifecycle Management: Triage, prioritize, and track defects to resolution in close collaboration with ChromeOS Flex engineering teams.
Hardware Compatibility (HCL): Drive testing efforts to ensure seamless performance across certified and uncertified devices, recognizing differences between standard ChromeOS and Flex environments.
Process Innovation: Identify and implement improvements in testing methodologies and tooling to broaden coverage and increase efficiency.
Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and lead major crossfunctional testing initiatives.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with ChromeOS Flex Engineering, Hardware teams, and Dev teams to maintain product excellence and delivery timelines.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
7+ years of experience in software quality or test engineering.
Deep familiarity with Linux environments, commandline tools, and platformlevel software testing on diverse hardware.
Experience with ChromeOS/ChromiumOS development and testing practices, specifically using frameworks like Tast or Autotest
