About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong handson expertise in modern data engineering tools, distributed processing (Spark/PySpark), orchestration, and growing exposure to GenAI-driven data solutions. This role requires excellent problemsolving capabilities and strong communication skills to work with crossfunctional teams.

In this role, you are expected to:
Technical Leadership: Own the technical integrity of data platforms by making sound architectural decisions, reviewing designs and code, and proactively addressing scalability and reliability concerns.
Execution & Delivery: Consistently deliver highquality data solutions on time, balancing shortterm business needs with longterm platform sustainability. People Management: Build, coach, and retain a highperforming data engineering team. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support individual career development.
Operational Excellence: Ensure production data systems are stable, observable, and welldocumented. Quickly identify and resolve data incidents, performing rootcause analysis and preventive improvements.
Collaboration & Communication: Act as a trusted partner to business, analytics, and data science teams by clearly communicating tradeoffs, progress, and risks.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging data technologies and practices, and drive adoption where they create measurable value.
