Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking aSenior Software Engineer (SRE)to lead reliability, availability, and operational excellence for its Realtime collaborative editing platform. The Senior SRE deeply understands the product and platform, aligns reliability work with business goals, leads complex initiatives, and drives engineering practices that enable teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems used by millions of customers.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end‑ reliability for Autodesk's real-time collaborative platform, including engineering practices, quality, deployment, and production support

  • Independently lead critical reliability and operational business goals aligned with platform and organizational objectives

  • Define, track, and improve SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across services.

  • Lead design and implementation of high availability, failover, and disaster recovery strategies

  • Drive systemic reliability improvements across teams and services.

  • Lead performance analysis and capacity planning for Realtime collaborative workloads

  • Identify and drive initiatives to reduce tail latency and improve platform responsiveness at scale

  • Drive platform wide‑ observability standards (monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing)

  • Own post incident‑ reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented within and outside the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

  • 6 - 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, or production infrastructure roles

  • Deep understanding of SRE practices including error budgets, capacity planning, and reliability metrics

  • Hands on experience operating large scale, distributed, cloud native systems.

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), microservices, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go)

  • Experience leading incident response and driving post incident improvements

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across teams without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Realtime or collaborative platforms

  • Contributions to open‑source infrastructure or SRE projects

  • Experience leading platform wide reliability or operational transformation initiatives.
