Senior Software Engineer - SQL

We use Python extensively for data processing workloads and Tableau for analytics dashboards for select infrastructure components. We use Redshift, Aurora, Redis Elasticache, Lambda, and other AWS products to build and manage our complete service, moving towards serverless components. We deal with billions of API calls, millions of records in databases, and terabytes of data to be managed with all services we build that have to run 24x7 at 99.99% availability.

What will I be doing

• Design, develop, test, tune, release and maintain database components of Zenoti
• Monitor the production databases and fine tune the problematic queries/stored procedures
• Collaborate with a team of product managers, developers, and quality assurance engineers to release features
• Work in a team following agile development practices (SCRUM)
• Build usable software, released at high quality, runs at scale and is adopted by customers
• Learn to scale your features to handle 2x 4x growth every year and manage code that has to deal with millions of records, and terabytes of data
• Be proud of what you work on, obsess about the quality of the work you produce

What skills do I need

• 4+ years working experience with SQL Server 2012, 2014,2016 or 2019 in developing, implementing, tuning and supporting SQL server databases
• Expert knowledge of T-SQL in developing medium to complex SQL Scripts and database objects like Stored Procedures, triggers, functions, indexes, and views.
• Experience in solving performance problems, query tuning, and optimization.
• Experience in using Dynamic management Views and functions when troubleshooting database problems.
• knowledge of understanding SQL Execution Plans, Execution statistics.
• Strong logical, analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Can work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
