The Opportunity

We're looking for a Backend Engineer (SDE 3) who can design and ship reliable, high-performance systems at scale. You'll design architecture, build APIs, own services end-to-end, and work with product and infrastructure teams to shape how Snabbit scales - one deploy at a time.

What You'll Do

• Architect and own distributed systems end-to-end: designing services that are highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and optimised for real-time performance.
• Raise the technical bar: define system architecture, set engineering standards, and influence design across teams with deep technical judgement.
• Write high-quality, production-grade code: Java or Go, with clean abstractions, strong interfaces, and a commitment to operational excellence.
• Ship fast and reliably: drive execution through sharp planning, tight feedback loops, and rigorously instrumented services that meet SLAs.
• Mentor & uplift: Grooming the SDE2 and SDE1 regularly to raise them to the next level. Be it in terms of documentation, design, code reviews, or quality in terms of planning.
• Bring high depth and engineering rigour: debug complex distributed issues, anticipate failure modes, and uphold the technical DNA that defines Snabbit.
• Champion operational excellence: build highly observable systems, own dashboards/alerts, drive incident reviews, and proactively improve reliability and on-call health.

What we're looking for

• 4 - 7 years of backend engineering experience with strong fundamentals in distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms.
• Expertise in any OOP language, with the ability to design scalable architectures, clean interfaces, and reliable services.
