Senior Software Engineer

Simpalm is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer on behalf of one of its U.S.-based clients. In this high-impact role, you will take full ownership of a proprietary case tracking platform—working directly with internal stakeholders to build new features, resolve technical issues, and reduce dependency on outside vendors.

• Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot the firm's proprietary case tracking software
• Partner with attorneys and operations staff to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Lead the transition of outsourced development work in-house, including code review, documentation, and knowledge transfer
• Design and deploy new features, integrations, and workflow automations
• Ensure platform security, reliability, and integrity for sensitive client data
• Integrate third-party tools and APIs (e.g., document management, e-signature, government portals)
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
• Provide internal technical support and training to staff as needed

• 6–8+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and React
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, AppSync, Amplify, Cognito, and S3
• Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Solid background in RESTful API development and third-party integrations
• Demonstrated knowledge of software best practices: testing, monitoring, and technical debt management
• Strong communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Prior experience in a legal, compliance, or regulated-industry environment
• Familiarity with legal case management or immigration-specific platforms
• Understanding of data privacy regulations and secure handling of PII
• Experience taking over and refactoring legacy codebases
• Exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices

• Fully remote role with flexible working
