Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering — India

Platform & Reliability

• India (Remote)

Contract-to-hire - 6-month evaluation

Requires at least 2 hours of daily overlap with US Central time (evening IST)

Our platform team exists to make the rest of engineering operate at a higher level. We don''t ship customer-facing features we ship the pipeline, telemetry, tooling, and platform cleanup that every other engineer stands on. This role is for a strong product engineer who wants that kind of leverage.

The opportunity

You''ll join a small team with direct ownership of how our client builds, deploys, observes, and modernizes its software. The work changes with what matters most each quarter: one month it''s making the path from merged PR to production shorter, the next it''s making alerts tell teams the truth, the next it''s retiring a piece of legacy that has slowed everyone down for years. You''ll do this with AI-native tooling as the default way of working, and you''ll help shape how the rest of engineering uses it.

Because the team sits next to product engineering, you''ll also pick up application work when that''s where the leverage is. We hire engineers who can ship a feature end to end and who choose to spend most of their time making feature work easier for everyone else.

What You''ll Do

• Keep the build, test, and deploy pipeline fast and trustworthy, and measure it so the team knows when it drifts
• Make the telemetry we collect meaningful and acted on: dashboards people open, alerts people trust, service objectives teams sign up to
• Shrink the legacy footprint: identify and remove unused code, consolidate background services onto the current .NET stack, keep runtimes and dependencies current
• Build and maintain the AI tooling engineers use every day, and extend it carefully into CI and deployment
• Investigate performance and reliability problems end to end and ship the fix, not just the diagnosis
• Contribute application code across our .NET APIs, Next.js frontends, and Rails monolith when the platform work calls for it or when a product team needs the help
• Partner with Cloud Infrastructure and product teams so reliability and developer experience are shared practices, not a silo
  
  

What We''re Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production features end to end, and meaningful time on platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling work
• Strong in .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) and comfortable in Ruby on Rails working knowledge of React/Next.js Go is a plus
• Hands-on with observability tooling: OpenTelemetry and Grafana, or equivalents
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) and with diagnosing and resolving production issues
• Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools
• You find the next problem yourself. We don''t hand out tickets with acceptance criteria we point at a tracker and a dashboard and expect you to frame the work and drive it
• A bias for writing things down: clear PRs, runbooks, and updates that let others follow what you did
• Strong written and spoken communication across time zones
  
  

Nice to have

• Azure experience (App Services, Functions, Container Apps) and infrastructure-as-code (Bicep or similar)
• SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, alert design
• Experience with service migrations or modernization in a live production system
• Experience building or operating agent-based automation in CI
  
  

How We Work

• Small team, direct ownership. You identify what needs doing from the tracker and the telemetry nobody hands you a ticket
• We work with a US-based team, so at least 2 hours of overlap with US Central time every working day is a requirement, not a preference. In practice that''s roughly 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST: the daily standup, engineering meetings, and the time your US teammates can reach you. Mornings are yours for focused work
• Claude Code and AI-assisted engineering are the default, not an add-on
• Contract-to-hire: the first months are a two-way evaluation. The main thing we''re assessing is whether you run on your own
